I just bought a Summers heat model 55SHP-10L and I have two issues with it. First, when I touch the top of the stove on one side it is warm and the other side I can't leave my hand on there for more than 2 or 3 seconds. My wife called Englander and they said that this is normal for this model and that all Englander stoves are like this. I know this is not true because I have a 2003 25-pdv that gets hot all the way across. My wife said the tech support on the phone was not very helpful and the person seemed to want to just get her off the phone. I told her that was strange because most reviews and forum posts I have read said how great their tech support is.
The other problem I have with my stove, is when the room air blower is on there is a high pitched whistling that comes from the top of the stove. I can stop it by putting pressure on the middle of it, but I can´t keep my hand on there too long. Does any one know what I can try and do to solve these issues or is the tech support correct in saying there is nothing I can do? Any advice would be appreciated.

The tech was correct, this stove gets hotter on the left side as you look at the stove from the front, the exhaust outlet is on that side so it will get hotter that side.

Not sure about the noise issue, not had that with my stove.
