Good day all. I have a new Osburn 2400 installed shortly before Christmas. Been burning steady since mid Jan. Recently I've noticed that there is some paint peeling off. Anyone else seeing this?View attachment 155195 View attachment 155196

No I Never touch it while it's hot. The only time I dust the top is in the am before a relight. The top part I can understand as I had a steamer on it. Maybe it got to hot beneath it. On the side by the door I've never cleaned. Not sure why the paint is doing this

I think you miss diesels point. If you, or an installer brushed dirt off before the curing fires it could have broken, the bond on the paint.....

Yeah site glad I found these great guys! Went to two other places looking to buy a stove and they didn't wanna give me the time of day or they acted like I knew nothing! Thought to myself of they this way before the Sale can only imagine what it be like if I have any problems. I live an hour out of the city in the county where ppl know everyone and I was taking to a guy about getting a wood stove and he suggested these guys. They 3/4 of an hour away in another small town. Soon as I talked to them I knew that's where I was buying it from. All over the phone never met the guys until i picked up my chimney. Great ppl!!

I'll be interested to hear and see how the touch up went. In my experience it's pretty normal for a stove to need re-painting from time to time, so you'll have to re-paint your stove eventually to keep it looking new. I understand you're stove is just a few months old, so needing paint so soon is upsetting. However, the spots in your photos aren't very noticeable and I'll be interested to see if they can get a paint match that is less noticeable than what you have now. I know it seems like black paint is black paint, so how hard can it be to get a match, right? Maybe over time the new paint will fade and be closer to the rest of the stove, but I'll bet when the paint is new it's going to stand out more than the blemish. Good Luck.
It will stand out until the paint is baked. If the touchup paint is a match to the original after a few fires over 500F stovetop, the paint should blend in pretty well.
Glad to hear! I'll let you guys know how it turns out. Not sure when I'm getting it fixed up as I'm burning it every day all day.

A friend of mine has a Drolet Classic and the paint did the same thing. Something tells me they (SBI) had a bad batch of paint this year. They sent him a free can of paint and gave him some tips on how to repaint it. His stove was manufactured around the same time as yours.

Interesting, My Century, Also an SBI product, has a spot like that. I'll contact them and see what they have to say.
They must have had a bad batch of paint or something. My dealer is going to take care of it for me. There are going to open up a warranty claim on it. Then come out and fix it up
My dealer "Interlake heating" from Arborg Manitoba, contacted me today and suggests we push for Osburn to have our stoves repainted. I fully agree, if its peeling now and we just fix the peeling area whats to say next year the rest doesn't peel? These ppl are great to deal with! would highly recommend them to anyone looking to buy a wood stove!
