I found a used P61 for sale and was trying to find the build date. the owner dose not know. I was try to figure what it would be worth. Thanks for the help.

My manual says it should be in the control area of the stove (I'm not home or I would check). If not there, then it will probably be in back.

I just looked at the plaque on the back of mine and there is no mfg date listed on it, and it's not listed in the control area. I also pulled off the upper rear cover and no luck there either. I bought mine from a dealer in '05, so I figure it is either a '04 or an '05. If you can't find the date, put the code from the back on and we can compare.
Also, check out the way the door looks. I think they changed the door design a year or two after I bought mine.

It looks like new the P61 is around 3200 dollars. They are asking 2000 dollars for this used stove.Since they did not buy it it came with the property I do not know the age (maybe 10 years)or the shape that it is in. I may have to just keep looking as the winter comes to an end.

For a 10 year old stove, of which the history (cleaning and any issues that might have cropped up), 2k is a stretch. And I believe that the P61 doesn't have auto ignition (correct me if I'm wrong), so as far as I'm concerned that is another strike. If you are okay with a manual start, and handy - maybe even know a bit tearing apart pellet stoves, you might want to offer them 1300-1500 (after a thorough look-see). However, if you want auto-lite, and aren't into getting into doing some major maintenance (at the least - probably even replace a fan or two), then you probably want to pass.
