I had mentioned in another thread about a few moderate sized cottonwoods that were leaning in my parents woods. I have three children who love to play in the woods so these trees had to come down. One tree was horizontal approximately 5ft off the ground wedged between three trees. The other two were both trees that rotted off their stumps and leaned almost vertical in other trees.

The tree hovering off the ground was actually pretty easy to cut. I just took the ends off, then used the trees holding it up as shields and cut it in half.

The other two were a bit more tricky. I used a come along to pull them so they were at about a 35-45 degree angle. Then I started cutting and walking the trees back towards vertical. I then repeated the process until the trees were on the ground. Well, one tree got to stay leaning for at least a little longer because I had saw problems. My husky 450 ran out of gas and my 61 was acting funny.

This is the first tree. I should have taken before, during, and after pictures but I am always anxious to get started.

Nice job, and I love the wood hauler!!
Snow in Indiana in March......

Yep, the kids are going to make me replace their sleds. The good thing about the snow is the sled works very well. The bad thing is it will soon melt and everything will be too muddy to work in for awhile.

There is a continous thread going "show your wood hauler"
You should post your make and model there!

Btw, your kids needs something more fun and faster!!
