I would look for an older home made splitter with a Commercial Honda Motor. I picked up a nice one on CL for $500 but it took about 6 months to find what wanted. Bring a bunch of knarley wood to split when you go see it.

Shows $899 for me.

Do yourself a favor, spend the extra money and get yourself a huskee 22......

There is a small reservoir at the engine side of the beam.

Which is exactly what I said. Reservoir built into the beam at the engine side.

Huskee is owned by an American company (Blount Int.). My understanding is that some (many?) parts are manufactured in China, but assembly is in USA.

I wouldn't be surprised if "Made in USA" splitters have at least some Chinese parts these days.

Blount, thats interesting. The own Warne Industries too. Warne makes ring sets for mounting scopes. I think Blount is like Asdisam, a holding company that buys up companies for a profit. Probably don't care where components come from so long as the margins are good. I know TSC.'s hydtaulic cylinders "red Lion' brand are chinese.

Spmetimes it's hard to tell today, lots of products are getting blurry in where they are made.

Thanks for the tip. Mine didn't come in the mail this year so I printed one online and went and got my Countyline 22 ton today.
