I thinking about running the PB during the summer for DHW. When I was using the day hopper only (no big box), and therefore had a good count, I used, maybe 5 or 6 bags over a 7 day period in October/early November. I don't think there was much building heat involved, but I can't remember, and I might have been testing things too.

Would anyone out there have any actual experience? Thanks.

Try it and let use Know. I think you still have a couple months of heating left don't you ? I know I do. Nothing like the dead of winter, but lots of cool days and nights left.

It's my opinion that burning in the summer is just heard on sooting up boilers and adding heat to the living space. Doubly bad if you air condition. HPWH is the best investment I've made, cools house in summer and makes hot water! Free hot water and pay for a small window A/C or free A/C and pay for hot water. Either way burning doesent have a "free" byproduct. I duct the HPWH into our master bedroom which works very well. Duct into mechanical room when A/C is not wanted.
