That's a lot of wood, where did you get it all and what is it? Lots of odd and short pieces there.

The are what are called "cut offs" from a logging operation. It's what is cut off logs on the landing. The chunks are irregular length but very large. I had a 30 & 40 yard container of them hauled in. Makes a lot of firewood in a hurry. I shoot for 16" length but it is not always possible.

The log in the center of the last pic was at least 1500 #s.

Incredible stuff.

I don't know how you have less snow than I do, though. We've got a half foot of pure slop on the ground. Gonna take a month of mild temps to dry us up.

It's been warm this week, the snow is almost gone. Doesn' stop the dog from having muddy feet when they come in though.

What a great pile of wood! Amazing how much more snow we have up here just a couple hundred miles north of you. The only open ground I see are the paths I shoveled to the wood piles. Even my gravel driveway is still ice covered. But with the temps that are coming, it won't be long until northern WI (Cable) looks like it does down your way.

Well all the sawdust and splitter trash is picked up.

But now I have run into a problem. The golf course opened Friday and it's supposed to be in the 60's today as it was Fri. and Saturday and tomorrow. We play golf EVERY day weather permitting all season. I never GET A DAY OFF.

11:04 tee time today. BTW, real men walk the course, all 18 holes which is a good 6 miles.

That's what happens when you retire, you start losing things. The memory goes next ! ....

I have gotten much better about putting things away. If you don't you will NEVER find things.

Yep, there was only a few weeks where I didn't have some grass in the yard showing. The chickens like it so they can eat it. You must have an old OWB for that much hardwoood. Must be 15-20 cords. .

Do you deliver, or have them come pick it up? I'm contemplating getting a whole bunch of wood split for exercise, then selling enough to come out even.. (should be getting a triaxle load delivered here soon..)

Firewoods as a business is tough unless you can get it free like I do. Around here culls go for $80-100/cord. At that price there isn't much margin. I do it for entertainment in the Winter and exercise. Knowing loggers and landowners makes it more attractive. I get what are called cut offs and they aren't marketable like the cull logs are as they can't be hauled on a log truck, the pieces would fall between the bunks. It does allow me to buy some really nice tools though.;)

Oh yeah, not looking to get into it as a business.. was just thinking about selling a few extras in order to help out my costs, and maybe break even.

Or maybe I'll just split/ stack it all and not have to worry about it for the next 3 years or so.

Don't mind me, just thinking out loud ;)

I sell the fire;lol Out of it too. It's a great way to stay in shape also.I made enough last year to get a good saw and pay my end if our Summit in cash.
