I have been toying with the feed setting on my Harman advance and havent noticed any difference in pellet consumption or stove performance. Does running the stove in room temp mode override the feed setting?

Any help will be appreciated.

I use my stove in room temp mode. Feedrate 5.

Think of room temp as cruise control for your stove......the Feedrate like a gas pedal limiter.

As an example...feedrate of 2 it can only feed 20 seconds out of every minute......I turn it to the point where the unburned pellets will get pushed over the edge.....in the manual it talks about this.
 
Setting the feed rate too low can really limit the stoves ability to maintain the set point. When I open my sliding door for a few minutes, the rush of cold air hits the room sensor and the stove will start feeding 40 seconds per minute (I have my feed rate on 4) to compensate.

Try putting your stove in room temp mode and put your room sensor out the window with the feed rate on 2 and then on 4 and see the difference in the size of the fire.

I read the thread MrWinkey and from what I gathered the feedrate is somewhat automatic once the stove meets the set temp. Its only when trying to achieve the set temp the feedrate comes into play. So I assume I should set the feedrate as high as possible as long as unburned pellets are not being pushed into the ash pan when trying to get to the desired room temperature. I have it set at 4 right now and the distribution blower runs constantly. I'll bump it up tonight when I get home and see if theres any difference. Maybe then the wife will quiet down as she's always complaining the stove is too loud. I wish she had a setting I could adjust.
 
I have a Advance, for the last 3 days days it has been in the 20 to 30 degree range I leave the it a stove mode set it 60 to 65 degrees, feed on 4, blower at mid way, first floor is 73 to 75 degrees up stairs is 70 to 72 degree range, when I leave it on room temp, the far areas of the house get cold, It seems to use the same amount of pellets, I think the slow and steady approach has work for me,
 
I have mine set at 68' with the feed rate on 3.5 and the blower mid way. It seems to be the best setting.....

Anyone have squealing prob.s on their Adance??? Also, is my stove the only one that the glass gets dirty very quickly on the left panel, and more Carbon build up on the left side as well???? I scrape it every day, and I break it down for a complete cleaning each month....

I would appreciate any feeedback.
 
My advance does the same with the glass getting dirty left to right, My auger just started to make a noise when it spins, almost like it's binding, causing a slight vibration, when this happens the back bottom panels rattle a little.

All of the advances seem to get dirty on the left bay window first, from what others have said here. I never noticed the carbon heavier on that side though..

Mine sounds similar, almost like a throbbing grinding sound and it vibrates the stove, what do you think it is?

Low throbbing sound is either just the gearbox and it's normal sounds or it is under a load from burnpot being dirty or possible missalignment of the chain or load on the slide plate.....
What I posted is the squeal that is like nails on a chalkboard. and will scare the pellets out of you when you first hear it....and it is not a common thing...but nonetheless it is what I would call....."the squeal"
 
Sorry, mine doesn't scare me it's just annoying,
