This week is a record as the local fire dept came out to my work
place twice ,2 separate work places one each.
Seems a nearby resident or residents called them out to report smoke coming from my chimney while starting my stove. I politely explained thats where the smoke is supposed to come out. Every one is jumpy from too many fires lately ,they call out the fire dept at the first sign of smoke.

Good thing there is no CAMP ground near them. There are a lot of camp fires with smoke at the RV /CAMP sites

Aw heck the guys just wanted to ride around in the nice weather and play with their toys

Dryer vents are pretty popular false alarms when temps are really cold.

I'd like to have heard the size up on that call.
'....smoke showing from chimney.' :p

Funny ,my next door neighbor has a smoke dragon stove that spews smoke 24/7 with matching creosote running down the pipe, i wonder if the fire dept ever came to his place. Mine only smokes on startup.

Thats why I like living so far out in no mans land that no one would know if my house was even on fire.....

Oh wait...

My parents burn their basement stove well into the spring, their neighbors have knocked on the door or called several times to see if the house was on fire. Glad they did that instead of calling it in.

Seems the firemen were mad at me, I DIDNT CALL THEM they should be mad at the morons who dont know a house on fire from a correctly functioning chimney.

Are there no fireplaces in your neighborhood? They are often the big smokers around here.

His neighbors just don't like him. ;lol
