Pictures like these are far too common here, usually the folks that are screaming how bad our units are SMH
 
Hes used 4 inch pipe its possible the exhaust goes up outside above the window. Other then the hooky looking window setup which may be ok I dont see anything else wrong.

How about a two piece hearth pad (patio slabs), with what appears to be about 3 to 4 inches in front of the stove? Hard to tell by the pics, but I would bet minimum distances to combustibles are not code, and there is no way in hell that that piece of particle board in the window is allowed.
 
And picture this in your head when you read a plead for help that includes 'It was professionally installed." "I clean it religiously". "Yep, I do that every day". "Yep, I checked all that a hundred times". "Nope, everything is tight and well seated".

Install was by BILs friend that does car exhausts, Cleaned religiously like I go to Church, Easter and Christmas, everyday that I remember and I can't remember what I had for dinner, what nummer comes after thwee?,its as tight as a hundred year old unused barn door off its hinges
