Thanks, that looks like the same TC-K BR probe. Did you screw the flange to the pipe or just insert the probe up to the flange?

I used two small short screws (same as stove pipe screws) through the top and bottom holes on the flange. I can't remember the drill bit size for the probe but I think it was 1/8" Whatever size I used, it was an exact tight fit. Watch that you don't kink the wires between the probe and the unit. Once in awhile we get an EEEEE reading and I have to wiggle the wires a bit and it returns to normal.

oops - forgot, I've got 8" chimney but it was on a 6" before this and both were fine.

I have the 4 inch probe in the pipe and mine is single wall.
There is really no way for me to check to see if it is accurate besides checking the outside temperature of the pipe with an IR, but I think it is accurate because it is just a little over double what the outside temp is.
The stovetop magnet probe is about 50 degrees low through its entire range according to the stovetop reading with an IR.

Already saved my butt once, I was in the process of dialing down the stove and got distracted, the pipe alarm ( hi temp set at a thousand degrees) went off.
I quickly adjusted the stove and there was no real danger, right then, but in another 5 minutes or less it could have been
