Finished up splitting and stacking 17/18's wood supply today. Still need to cover the second stack. I'm 3 years out thought it's spread over 2 counties at the moment.

Wise decision going with plastic pallets. Do you divide your firewood by species or stack whatever is ready next?
I just split and stack what ever I cut together. That"s all Oak and hard Maple, mostly maple though.

Yeah, I have not really tried those in the Tundra yet, guess I should see how they fit. Those were sized for the Johnson Energy Systems furnace but I will be swapping that out over the summer. Guess its not that big a deal to pop them once with a maul before loading if I need to. This little guy works pretty well for that.

Where'd you score those plastic pallets from? Did you buy them, or find someone giving them away?
They are the broken one that were being thrown out at a local factory. The bottoms are busted up a little but they still work well for stacking wood.

I too like the plastic pallets. It would be great to have some instead of replacing the wood ones every time as they are rotted out. I have not seen any around here for the right price of free yet!

Looking real nice there smoke. I scored a nice white oak last week from my neighbor. Bad news is that it was still alive when he felled it, so I have to wait about 3 years for that to be ready. Right next door to my house I can't say know....

I am really liking those plastic pallets also. I just got done digging some of my rotten ones out of the ground and trying to get all the nails picked up also.
Yeah, if you can find them I would recommend picking some up but wood pallets are sure better than none, maybe set them up on some bricks to keep them form wicking moisture form the ground.

I'll have next winter's wood set-up in about a month and by the end of sumer I plan on having the next two years worth done.

Thanks for all of the kind words. I would like to get out and cut another load or two before the nettles and bugs get bad but it's not looking to promising at the moment. But ya know if I had it sitting here I would probably feel the need to split and stack it. It's a vicious circle I say!
