TelTru has a fairly small one. Fairly expensive too.

Interesting. Tel-Tru is 2" diameter, PTC is 3/4". Is there anything between these measurements, and/or made specifically for wood stoves?

I can't imagine those PTC thermometers surviving a very long life on a woodstove.

I mean for a stove, not for a stovepipe.
Why do you need a SMALL one?

I find as I age I need anything with numbers (or letters) to be LARGER, not smaller.:(

I bet Englander can recommend one. You do know they're on this forum?

Regarding scale, I wish that I could find one that shows the optimum range for my particular stove, which the mfr. says is between 350 and 600F.

Just make your own marks for your stove on what ever thermometer you choose

Yes, but my emails to their tech support have gone unanswered.

Call them but I'll tell you what they'll say cause I had the same question. Put it on the top right or left of stovetop or right or left side closest to the top of door. The guy told me also to put it in the center of the top of the stove and it should be fine. Best advice is to go with a prove type for the pipe

It makes no sense at all to put it on the stovetop because the air circulation space is just underneath. What does "prove type" mean?

The guy that designed the stove told you in the manual where to put it. Put it there. Forget range. Get one that tells you the temp. That temp is in the manual too. What is so hard here?

I meant probe type. Also said I was told the put it on the top sides of the stove up in the corner closest to top of door.

What's so hard is that there is not enough room to put it where the manual says.
