Within the last week, I've replaced the control panel on my 11 year old Breckwell P2000 FS. The sticker on the original control panel said C-E-400 and the new one says C-E-404. Immediately I noticed that the convection blower is blowing harder at all heat levels than the original one ever did. On heat level 2, its not quite at top speed because I notice a difference when I press the High Fan button. However on heat levels 3, 4 and 5, it sounds the same (blowing hard) and pressing the High Fan button makes no difference so I assume this means its blowing at top speed. I sent an email to Breckwell customer service and their reply was this: "There was a slight program change in the newer board you have. Due to the increase of pellet stove usage, pellet quality has improved. With better quality pellets we are seeing higher BTU outputs. These higher BTUs have been causing some units to overheat, thus the programming change for the convection fan speeds. What you are seeing is normal for the control panel you now have." So I feel that the new control panel is working as expected. However, I'm now concerned about the convection blower which is also brand new, having recently been replaced. In the stove's manual it says this: "If the “HIGH FAN” setting is used for extended periods of time it can shorten the life expectancy of the room air fan. Avoid use at this setting for more than one hour at a time." I asked the same Breckwell rep about this but he didn't reply. During the very cold stretches of winter, I'll regularly run the stove on heat level 3 continuously for 3 days in a row. Should I be concerned about the health of my convection blower since it will basically be blowing as High Fan for long stretches? Or does that High Fan warning no longer apply?

I went looking on the Mountain View web site for control boards for your stove and didn't find any C-E-404. I did find a C-E-401 board. Here is what is listed for that board.

Replacement Breckwell 1RPM, 5-speed circuit board / control board. Breckwell part number A-E-401 or C-E-401. For most stoves made in 2002 or newer.

Fits the following models:

· P23 - Serial # 7166 to Present
· P23I - Serial # 2243 to Present
· P24 - Serial # 53664 to Present
· P24I - Serial # 53795 to Present
· P1000 (Big E) - All Units
· P2000 - Serial # 11780 to Present
· P2000I - Serial # 22208 to Present
· P2700 - Serial # 8445 to Present

Serial numbers may be off. If your serial number is lower, you probably need a C-E-301 circuit board.
OEM Breckwell part.

Please note that Breckwell has slightly redesigned their control boards. They now have a red label around the pellet feed and on/off buttons.

Sorry I can't help with your question.

Thanks for your reply. The part that I ordered was the C-E-401 like you said. That's the part number you'll see everywhere online. The Breckwell site has a slightly different name for it called A-E-401 but its the same part. When you inspect the control panel, there will be a sticker that shows the revision number, in my case, C-E-404. I don't know why they don't just change the part number with each revision. Regardless, any revision of the panel works with each of the stoves listed in your post.
