Someone posted a while back that their ponderosa top had warped. Mine has a sink hole forming n the middle. Almost a quarter inch deep. No over heating. I keep a close eye on it. Hottest it's been is 550 on the top. is this normal? Anybody else have this experience? I'm comming up on a year of buying it and thinking maybe got a week piece of steel.

Far from normal. There's stoves here that have burned 24/7 for 30 or more years without that problem. Is there a warranty on the stove?

Vogelzang stoves in my opinion are very poor quality stoves i have seen more of them and ussc stoves fail or have other serious problems than stoves from just about any other company. Good luck getting it taken care of but i would seriously consider looking for a better stove. The englander products are much better for similar prices

Unfortunately you have an entry level stove from a company with very poor customer service. These are sold at big box stores for a reason, and there is no dealer to help you with the issue. If it came from a reputable dealer they would make it right in your behalf, even if the manufacturer wasn't being cooperative.

US Stove company strikes again... I really dislike this company.. I know this really stinks for you, if your on a budget and want quality I would recommend Englander stove company, there are some pretty good sales going on at home depot

Sorry to hear. I started out with A VG, and wished I did my homework first. Hopefully you can lay your hands on a NC or drolet with a good spring price.
