When to buy pellet stoves (in Boston MA), cost of install etc.

Feb 21st this year I paid $243 a ton delivered for bulk, blown in pellets. These were New England pellets, pretty good pellets but it does not matter so much compared to a stove where a low ash pellet means less cleaning. With a modern boiler it is pretty much self cleaning. Even if you use the lowest grade pellet you can find, a pellet stove will never be as much work compared to a wood stove.
Also have you looked at the MA rebate site, I think they are still running a $12,000 rebate which they send to you after installation as a check.

They do have certain requirements but that could soften the blow.

I know prices are higher in the Boston area, but our geothermal system ( Maine ) was about 22k in the end. Cheaper to operate then pellets and it cools as well. Just sayin make sure you explore all your options.
