First time poster long time reader. I absolutely love reading on here. You guys are the best. Got a chance to use my new 372xp today. Absolutely killed these logs. Couldn't be happier with my nasty saw!

Great haul. I have been reading here about the 372XP for years and have to keep going and hiding my wallet. Seems that is a heck of a chainsaw.

Welcome.

Oak4life, I went from a 50 to a 60cc saw and seen a mega jump in woodslaying power, can't imagine what another 10cc as your 372xp might provide. Good looking woodpile there too ^5s.

Those logs are pretty close to the road, not worried about scrounger a trying to snag it? I have to agree with what you said about your 372XP, it's a great saw.

Was that silver maple you cut there? I, like you, love my 372xp. I'll be firing mine up once the local tree guy drops off a load of wood for me.

Nice chunk of wood you got there. Enjoy the new saw!

Welcome , nice score and great saw! The more I read about it the more I just gotta have one !

Red oak fellas and hard maple. Mostly red oak though.
Welcome to the Forum! I know that red oak gets some negative comments on the forum due to the time it takes for it to dry but that is the majority of what is currently in my stacks. Give it a couple of years to dry and you will be very pleased in how it burns in your woodstove. Also, the 372xp is a beast! I've got the 346xp and my neighbor just purchased the 372xp and it is incredible.

I know a couple years is standard for drying time for red oak but I have actually had it dry out in a year. I get lots of wind and all day sunlight. Checked it with the moisture meter and it was 20% or lower. Just have to split it smaller in my opinion.

Good luck on that one-year drying time! There is no way that I could ever get it dry in just a single year. Do you take your moisture readings from a piece of wood that has been in your woodpile for a year and then split it to get a moisture reading from the center?

I sure do. I couldn't believe it myself. I'll have to get a picture for you guys. I get full sun all day long with lots of wind all the time.

Been wanting to run a modern 70 cc class saw. I like my 385xp, great in the big wood. I love my MS362 it is my go to favorite saw, but have always thought another 5-10 cc would be perfect or maybe having it moded. My Stihl 038 magII is just to slow and torquey.
