I have a harman xxv. I am wondering what pellets other xxv owners have burned,that produced the least amount of ash? Thanks.

Great list but I'd add Vermont Wood Pellets. Just tried a few bags and the lack of ash is remarkable.

I would like to see that test too - although they were fairly expensive when I got 4 bags to try.
Even though I haven't officially weighed it, I would say the spruce pointes I burned this season probably fell between the county boy and barefoots when it came to ash production.
I'm surprised to hear cubex put out that much ash. I had thought those were super premium pellets.

Home & Hearth in Hampton is running a pre-buy sale this month and I believe Vermont's are $285/ton.
this was all the premium brands i could get loose bags for same around me.would have liked to test a few others if i could have gotten them,vermonts,easy blaze,somersets were a few others i was looking for.variables always change but this was just a fun test i conducted to kinda show what the ash looks like opposed to reading numbers on a bag.cubex had about 1/2 the amount of ash last year so not sure what changed there.but i was set on buying 6 tons of cubex for next year and have changed my mind after seeing that ash.i had to empty my harman xxv ash pan every 2 days(what a pain)instead of once a week when i shut down to clean.the cubex did blow away all the pellets as far as heat(in their defense)they were knoticably hotter than even douglas firs at $269 a ton vs firs at $429

I visited AB last week. I was told Vermont's are $329/ton and when asked they said no pre-pay deals were planned at present.

Yeah, that is the message I got. Oh yeah, and the obligatory, "the price is expected to go up soon" (twice - and this was in a voicemail). And, even though I enquired only about prepay for next fall, they kept telling me how they had them in stock so I could get them today. Yeah - No.
Bear Mountain 100% Doug. Fir. provide the lowest ash and burn the hottest for my XXV. But in the Midwest they are also the most expensive due to shipping costs to get them here.
