Not being near MD I hadn't paid much attention to this thread, but seeing some more general questions, I will chime in. I'm on my 19th cord in the PH since buying it in Jan 2012 and will be into the 20th cord before the end of the season, and I put about 6-7 cords through the IS last winter. I'm still very happy with both the PH and the company. We are wanting to add a second stove and our only decision is which of their stoves to choose (IS or the smaller Franklin).

I will be interested to see how this turns out too. I just ordered the ideal steel. Keep us updated!
They are expected to take delivery on June 20. We are all with very high emotions around here bc they've been burning the same stove for 24 years and this is a huge investment with a $4000 chimney repair happening soon as well. Hopefully pictures of the "progress" (in both senses of the word) coming soon.!

I'm impressed. I've put under 12 cords through the PH since Dec 2011, with the PH as my sole source of heat. There is no way I could process or handle 20 cords with the equipment I have in that time frame, so I am very glad I don't need it. With a large home built in the 1970's, well built with good insulation for the time and 2x6 construction, I use about three cords a year, including shoulder season uglies. Zone 5 borderline Zone 4, so pretty darn cold.

I think the stove is gorgeous and delightful.
