I burned Okie doug firs and LOVED them. At $360/ton they can go pound sand. I'll stick with my Barefoots at that price.

Saw a good price on Blazer DOUG FIRS though. Kinda sketched out on committing 6 tons to something I've never tried.

sounds ;like a broken record[ best I ever burned] but Blazers we're the best last year as far as low to zilch ash...
you will get 90% of stove owners here that will agree about Douglas fir blazers..
plenty hot too.

I have never seen them from this retailer before, and I wanted a few head nods from the masses that..."yeah, i've seen them....yeah they burn as you'd expect firs to burn"

Which retailer and how much? You can get some at HD in the fall for $250/ton, try them out, and if you don't like them, go with something else. I grabbed 2 tons last fall. They are pretty good but I would take Vermonts over them.

I have never actually seen pellets at my HD, nevermind Doug Firs. I've never actually personally seen a pallet for sale at $250...for anything...ever.

It's a 12ton buy at $319. I'd be splitting it with a friend.

You will not be disappointed with the Blazers. I bought 7 tons last fall and wish I had bought another 7 tons. Practically no ash and they burn HOT! Paid $219 per ton at HD, and hoping to repeat this fall.

Agreed. You will be hard pressed to find a bad review of Blazers. The price is a tough pill to swallow though. $319 sounds pretty good compared to the $360 Okie DFs are selling for around here, but not as good as the $225 - $250 price at HD and TSC. I'm puzzled how you never saw pellets at HD. I bought pellets multiple times at the HD stores in Oxford, Auburn, and Natick this season, and their price was $250/ton all season. Even lower with a coupon. Surely one of those stores must be near you? I don't think there is any such thing as an HD that doesn't sell pellets.

You didn't do a search for Blazer threads, since there have been numerous discussions about them this past Winter. In general, they were considered a great pellet with little ash, as most DF pellets burn very thoroughly. They were a hot item since they were so cheap for a while at HD, $239, when the usual DF pellet is well over $300.
