We had a really warm, sunny beautiful day today, and I finally was able to get out there and do a lot of splitting, and man did it feel good! I am sore as all get out, but that's normal for me, but I feel much better mentally knowing that I could finally get out there and get somewhat caught up after this Winter pushed us back. And most of what I split didn't have any odor to it so it is very dry already: only some Oak and Mulberry and Cherry had any aroma to it but it wasn't real strong, since the rounds have been sitting for a good while. I'm very sore but I'll take it...amazing isn't it the frame of mind that working with firewood puts us in, isn't it?

And I also came up with a name for those odd-shaped pieces that are cut kind of close to size but have odd sections of branch sticking out, too good to throw out but not shaped correctly to put in the stacks so you put them on the top of the pile? "Toppers" ;lol

So we sometimes have cookies, chunks and now toppers lol :)

Rained a lot today, but was able to move this pickup load of ash to the backyard and stack. Sorry, got dark so no pictures of the stack. Sunday end high.jpg

I like those side racks on the pick up, I might do that to mine, I'm also going to try to find a head ache rack to protect my back window.

I started one, but now I'm just using a pellet standing up. Works pretty well but still may do something someday when I get other chores taken care of.

My neighbor called the other day, he had 170 trees logged from his property and he can't burn enough wood to get the tops gone prior to it rotting. Told me to go get all I want. [emoji2]
