This was the same stuff that I tested a few months back that was between 16-20% moisture. I'm using it next year for sure. Yeah I camped out there all day today with my saws.

I've cut, split, and burned black locust like that in the same day before. It takes so long for it to rot that it actually does dry out in log form.

Take it all, dry it all to under 19%, you will be happy.....

Years worth out there! Saw a few Red Oaks down and my steel toe went right through them! So they get to stay! Funny how all the locust trees just uprooted. The whole tree came down but did not break off any where. Strong tree!!!

Shallow roots, no taproot.
Ya, they are the first to blow down when they are young. I have some very old ones in my front yard, they lose limbs but won't blow down for nothing! I've been wishing they would blow over for years!

Tuff son of a guns!

I've burned black locust posts that were 30 years old, still as solid as the day they were put in the ground. The stuff takes decades to rot. I built my woodshed out of BL posts, 16' long and 5-7" diameter, set four feet in the ground. I expect it will outlast me and probably my kids too.
