well i picked up my spectrum today it's all black looks really nice really satisfied with it. only question is how does the boost manifold go in there and how is it held it
 
I assume that is the boost air channel? An angled metal piece with some holes in it? Check in the firebox bottom just behind the door opening. You should see some pins and a small hole in the bottom. Insert the channel over the pins that the holes point to the inside of the firebox.
 
I am looking to purchase either a Vermont casting or a pacific energy wood stove. My house is 1600 square feet but I want I bigger stove because of where the location of the stove has to be and how the house is chopped up. I want to know if these two brands are decant brands and how well they work. Also are the ratings given to the stoves any bit accurate or are they just best case tested in a lab

I think you should go with pacific energy wood stove.
