........"locks for love"......

Okay....

This thread is reserved for discussion....

The original thread... is where you post your way of giving a gift...saying thank you to someone...or just offering a kind word....

...In other words:

...To bring good to others...

To suggest gifts....that don't even require money.

Good idea keyman, I'm a fulltime firefighter myself and where I work we carry little stuffed toy dalmation dogs on the truck to give to children that may be "having a bad day". Gave 3 of them away last week to some children who's Toronto maple leafs light burned up the "fort" they were building and the bedroom it was in. Something as small as that can really lift their spirits. The hall is also a drop off for food year round for the foodbank and toys too during the holiday season, which is one of the best things to give.

Okay....Why the picture of the fire station???

When I was a kid... I would walk past that fire station on my way to school. I always wanted to stop in...just a curious kid.

One day I stopped in and was greeted by a firefighter. That firefighter showed me around the station house... the trucks and even explained how something worked...

....I asked how the firefighters how they knew where a fire was and he explained how the "alarm boxes worked" and he showed me the ticker tape machine that printed out the alarm codes...

I have always remembered that day.

One day while working in the backyard a neighbor's young son asked me what I was doing. I was washing my truck or something I can't remember exactly what... but I was using a small canvas hose with a red plastic nozzle...and boys being boys he wanted to know what kind of hose it was.

It was a Sunday afternoon so I asked his mom (a young single mom she moved away...think she said she got married...) I asked If she wanted to take her son for a walk...where???

To the other end of the block to see the inside of a firestation...

The firefighters even let that little boy sit in one of the firetrucks...

The smile on that kids' face....

Future firefighter maybe???

Can't remember much about that day...just seeing that kid smile was great!
