hi all

i tried to look online and i couldn't find any collaborative info on what the species of the wood that i have.

attached are photos of them. as you can see, there is a faint purple and yellow hue on the grain and they have an incense like smell to them.

any ideas?

Bark and grain says Tulip tree to me.
 
I'm used to seeing that mix of purple and yellow colors in Tulip.

by the way, the bark that is shown in one of the photos is not from the same tree.

here are a couple more shots showing the veneer which i think is quite beautiful.
