Hi Guys,

I need a new chimney sweep in the Central CT area.
The last guy I hired didn't do a very good job and broke my baffle (expensive).

I've searched the site and the places recommended (Neighborhood Chimney and Loyalty Chimney) are not answering their phones.

Thank you for any help you guys can give.

Also, would you think this is a busy or slow time for sweeps?

did you just call today? This is not busy or slow for most sweeps most have work now but are not slammed

I called yesterday. Left a message with Neighborhood and no call back. All of Loyalty's numbers came up as not in service.

Yeah and check those sites

well they should have called back last night but when we are busy it can take 2 days. But csia has a good site just search your zip code

and btw didnt the old weep replace the baffle?

No, he said it was cracked like that when he removed it. Except I know it wasn't. I would have pushed it more if I had known how costly those things are to replace.

Could you just try it yourself? How tall is your house/chimney ? I'm doing it myself every spring, but my house is single story ranch.

That is why i take a pic and stop when i find something like that. It happens all the time most customers have no idea their baffle of bricks or what ever is cracked. Not saying yours was but are you sure. He could also have been a hack i dont know

Yes, my original guy used to take pics, but then he sold the business to these new guys and they are just not the same and I don't feel that safe with them. I cleaned the inside of the stove with my own vac and that is why I know the baffle was fine.

My Chimney is three stories up and I really don't have the stomach for doing it myself. Almost bought the kit, but just feel safer leaving it to the insured professionals.

The guy I left a message with just called me back, so I will see if he is available.

Fair enough then look on the csia site you should get some other options

Called a guy from the csia site, he told me that Middletown to Wolcott was too far for him. The original guy I called is now coming Thursday. If any interest here I can let you know how my experience goes.
