Finally tucked the stoves away for the season. Everything cleaned, painted, and sprayed down with pam. Outside exhaust pipes are plugged with rags, stoves are unplugged to save from lightning strikes. Got masking tape over tstat and wall control saying exhaust is plugged, to remind me in the fall. Have a great summer everyone! kap

snowing not too far from you...you sure?

LOL. Yep. In case of emergency, break glass, and turn furnace on. LOL

I haven't run the stove in just over a week. I'm holding out on the end of season cleaning until June 1st or later just in case.

I still need to take both exhaust fans out and clean them. Ran out of time as we have a custom made wood cover that goes around the Sante Fe that we put the tv on when we re-arrange furniture in living room Waiting for a rainy day and am going to take pot out of AE and auto-clean and do a deep clean on them and clean up some surface rust on parts of auto clean rails etc.

Nope. After ours being off for a week again i fired it up today to take the chill out

I fired up the furnace to take the chill out.

Todays high 44. Lots of nice slow rain today and hope it does not turn to snow tonight. Had to shut down the Bixby as East winds where fouling the system. Harman on and running getting the basement back to reasonable temps. Going to be some happy farmers around here. We have not had this kind of rain since last June.

66 and 74 here. Temp in house is from yesterday. Have not had furnace on all day.Only 1/4" today.

Right now it's 80 and HUMID it's so hot here in Ct, fans are on, too hot to sleep!!, this is wayyyy tooo early!!, and THIS SUCK's!!
Also It hasn't rained in 3 week's, the Halt's Fertilizer I put down on the ground is all this there, I planted grass seed in other area's not even a blade of grass, other night forgot and left lawn sprinkler on all night!!, cant wait for the city water bill!!

I just loaded the air conditioner with electrons for the night.

Pictures.. Pictures!!! Id love to see some pictures of the wood cover around the Santa Fe..

I fired mine up today, it's the only place warm enough where I can let pizza dough rise. Going to be rainy the rest of the week, so will probably run it at night, when the damp air brings a new kind of cold. Our only other heat source is base boards, which are pretty much useless, so I can keep the pellet stove running as late as July some years.

Started up the main floor stove this morning to take off the chill before I left for work (I think I shut it down before leaving). Was cool and cloudy yesterday so the house didn't get much solar warming. Supposed to have a few mornings in the low 30's coming up, so still plan on burning. The basement stove might be done for the year though - but I won't know for sure until the end of the month.

miserbly hot and humid here in Ct this morning, no rain over 3 week's lawns are starting to turn brown, this looks like late july heatwave, no rain really in the future either, went from winter to mid summer in a week, one bad thing about the northeast it can be as hot and humid as florida, even hotter!!

we had a great run this past week without the stove. high 80's even low 90's. even ran the AC's a bit to deal with some of the humidity. but here it is low 40's tonight and the good old englander is roaring away once more. I figure it wont get entirely mothballed until mid june this year, only to get lit for the season again mid september. Quite amazing when you think about it, needed the stove most of the entire year and all.

just woke up to hear the furnace kick on and the windows are open!!, furnace might be set to 61

Started the St. Croix last night around 7, just shut it off when I got up.

Started up both stoves last night - were running until I turned them off before leaving for work. Frosty here this morning.

39 degrees out last night. I fired mine back up....lol. Strange weather anymore...

Almost put mine on last night when I got home but didn't do it. I did put on a sweat shirt to knock the chill off :)
