tmp_8814-IMG_20150425_1715586001808768122.jpg My transfer station guy usually picks out good stuff brought in and sets it aside . Somehow he got a complete splitter and asked if I wanted it . Of course I did . Engine didn't run but the splitter was all there .
Had a 3hp on it but replaced it with the HF 6.5 HP . Drained and flushed the rest and started it up . Worked great and so far have split several cord with it . Not to bad for $98 engine and $20 of fluids . BTW it is a Hess Abe's baby splitter .

Deals like that don't come around often. People bring ridiculous things to the transfer station.

Your right . Have picked up much stuff there that was like new . Whole Yamaha sound system including sub that looked and worked like just out of the box .

We live in a throw away society . Great for people like me that tinker . Now if someone would just toss a wood processer I would be set .

My soon to be 13 year old son may become my freebie splitter one day.....I hope.....
