Resplit a few pieces today while straightening up my stacks and found it at 22.5% or so. I'm hopeful it'll be good to go for 15/16. Any insight one what to expect from a mid-Atlantic summer for that last 3%?

You're right up the road so that is good news.
I've had pretty poor results with anything over 20%. It may be the small firebox is more sensitive to moisture than the big boys but the sweet spot reading on my meter seems to be 18-19%.

Beech is one of my favorites to burn. With my drying set up (not ideal) it needs two years to dry. A three year old/seasoned beech is perfect, totally high octane!
