Maybe Sycamore.
 
yep Beech. Kinda builds pressure and then lets go all at once on the hydro unit. Never had any 100% green stuff so not sure how that acts.
 
I got a lot of beech in this latest load.. most of it splits fairly easily, but two of the logs fought me all the way. Smells nice too.
 
Lotta times, wood will get harder to split if you buck into rounds but don't get to 'em right away...
