Easy way to remove linoleum?

I got lucky mine was laid on 1/4 in ply sub floor
used a square noised shovel and just pried it up
laid a new ply wood floor before laying a floating
tile floor best move I have ever made

Make sure there isn't asbestos in the old linoleum. This could ruin your life.

I tried dry ice on some linoleum that was put down some time after the house was built in 1920.
I didn't want to make dust and heat made an awful stench.

The sheet and most of the glue popped off in little sections the size of the cake of ice.
It didn't take all the glue though and I had to work at that with a chisel, shaving it off the floor.

I just wanted a flat floor for sheet vinyl. There was no way to restore the hardwood floor as there were repaired damages around the perimeter from leaks and a room expansion.

Another 1/4 subfloor on top if it does not look goofy. Did that in my bathroom you would never know by the way it lines up with the other floor.

Did you get it all off? Sometimes when we install/build/add to our houses we often forget that sometimes we may need to undo it..lol "yeah, I can add a bit more glue..."
