Well it's in and done.

And boy is this thing a beast. I keep trying to remind myself that this is wood stove--load it, set it, watch it and forget it--and it doesn't eat logs like the old fireplace!

It certainly has plenty of potential to runaway. Last night it got up to 650 without breaking a sweat! But I was sweating big time! Won't do that again.

The blowers are quiet, the heat output is excellent. I went whole hog with the install--exterior chimney, full stainless and 1" insulation down the big clay liners. The installers usually don't do a back off plate with full stainless, but I insisted based on what I've learned here. I also have a rutland thermometer on the top of the box behind the face plate that I can view. It doesn't drop noticably when the blowers come on.

I left the fans in the heatilator box hooked up and they run but don't put off any heat until 3 or 4 hours into burn time.

THANKS EVERYONE FOR WHAT I'VE LEARNED HERE! THIS PLACE ROCKS!

p.s. I'm a couple of inches short on hearth depth. Sometime in the not to distant future I'll put a row of tile on the floor.

Nice Job, you will enjoy that stove for a long time. I'm on year 2 with mine installed last year at about the same time ..
Have a nice holiday!

I like, looks real nice i am on my 3 year with mine.

Year 3 with my Elite 33, too. Love the thing. We'll be moving (somewhat unexpectantly) next year, and I hate to leave it behind.

Congratulations. Great choice.

I'm on 1 month with the stove. Loving it.

I have to swap the therometer to inside on top of the stove. I have it on the front ot the stove, and typically only see temps aropund 400-450 with blaze going in the fire box and a 100 plus degree drop once the blower is on. Tomorwo I am going to reloacte the thermometer and see whhat temps I get to .

I get some fantastic secondary burns and roaring fires, but never see those temps.
