Some member of the hickory/walnut family. Not black walnut based on that ID description. It calls out a small or missing terminal leaflet on that compound leaf which does not match the OP's picture. The bark is way too rough to be an english walnut, I have one in my back yard. That pretty much leaves the hickory group.

Could be hickory but it reminds me of pecan, which is in the hickory family. Pecan has that characteristically thick bark. Terrific firewood too.
Thank You Gents. Its deffinately not walnut since I have no walnuts or walnut husks on the ground under the tree. Funny thing is that I can't find any hickory nuts either.

It is a hickory. There are five leaflets per leaf, and the leaflets are rather narrow, so I would go with Pignut or one of the similar hickories. It isn't Shagbark. What type of hickory it is doesn't matter now, since all are similar as firewood.

I dont know if the nuts are annual but they ripen in the late fall. They might be really tiny yet.
I dont know about the hickory trees but my maples and Ash are full of samaras this year.
Shagbark has 5 leaves too...but they are huge compared to Pig. And the nuts dont stick around long, you gotta be really quick.
