Anyone see that Home Depot's price for pellets will be 299/ton. I think I may be heading back to oil after 8 years of burning pellets.

I am using oil and propane at my house and apartment this year. I'll end up paying about $40 more using fossil fuels than burning pellets. I'll pay that price not to hump 20+ tons of pellets.

I didn't use fossil fuel when it 25 cents a gallon why would I use it now
Still going to heat with pellets and wood . Pellets the last 14 years and
wood all my life Now I use both pellets and wood

I just looked , says 269, 299 for the fireside ultra softwood..
I just looked too and on the HD site it says $269 a ton. I also just looked at the Lowes site and they have a limit of 100 bags, and I need 3 ton. I don't want to pay an extra delivery charge, may have to rent a Uhaul.

Looks like Lowes price is $260/ton

$5.58 x 50 = $279 -7%= $259

Rationing pellets already? I suspect they are trying to garner more delivery fees

So, you're saying FSUs have gone from $219 to $239 to $299 in just a couple winters?!? That'd be like $3.60 a gallon oil.

Okay I looked, and it shows Fireside Platinum is $299.

Yeah, big difference between regular FSU's and the Platinum's pricewise. I know nothing about if it is worth the difference as I haven't burned the Platinums. Regular FSU's are good for me.

I'm done!, no more cleaning, no more lifting every morning which a sore back, no more uneven heated home, if my house was oil hot water/radiator i would never burn pellets again! F/A suck's as it noisey and comes on and off, sick of 74f in the living room and next room over is the dining room/kitchen and it's 62f

So how will you heat? Sounds like you ruled just about everything out there.

TSC around here prebuy has always been 179, just got the coupon, have to check today.

In order for me to cost benefit from burning oil/propane over pellets, means the pellets would have to be $447/ton....

I get $325/ ton in my calculation. Oil is 2.75/gal here now, and assumes 78% efficiency for oil and pellet boilers.
There was a sign outside a Home Depot near me for 269/ton. Didn't look at brand, but sure seems high to me.
Is it the global economy?

Wow expensive oil around you. Just drove by a place $1.98 gallon. Hard to beat that even with an old oil guzzler.

You serious?, oil here is near $2 a gallon, 100 gallons is like ton of pellets,

Same here. Oil is hovering around $2.00 - $2.20 a gallon. That's puts my break even point for pellets at $275/ton.

Went to the one in Greenwich NY. They said $242 for a pellet called "American Wood Pellet" they or I could be wrong on the name, but that is why I come here today, to see if they are any good? I know that price stinks...
