What fireplace door to use

Trying to figure out if this fireplace door is okay for me to use?

I've removed the surround from the fireplace and am getting ready to fix it up. Going to put up a thin brick and this fireplace door.

I have to build up around the firebrick about an inch planning on doing that with cement board, then the tile like thin brick.

What are the dimensions of your opening going to be when you're done with the tile work?

To use for what? They are supposed to be kept open when you have a fire burning. Thus, they are more decoration than adding any function to your fireplace.

What are the dimensions of your fireplace? It looks pretty shallow and high. Was it maybe made for burning coal?
