I just got my new Englander 25-PDVC fired for the first time and I'm loving it. :cheese: It's heating the first floor of my house real well, and a bit of my second floor: no need to heat the top floor of my home during the day as noone is up there.

I love watching the fire through the glass and I don't even hear the hum anymore, it just blends into the background. I like everything about this stove; ease of use, customer support (has been excellent), simplicity of working parts and it's simple, clean look.

For some reason, the outside of the stove (front & sides) is getting very hot to the touch. I was given the suggestion (Englander customer support) to run the blower 3 settings higher than the heat setting to help get the heat out of the stove (ie: heat setting 3, blower setting 6). I've tried that suggestion and the outside of the stove is still very hot. Should the outside surface be getting that hot?

Thanks,
Scott

Because the front of the stove hull is also the front of the firebox, it usually is quite warm. Its nothing to be alarmed about, but if you'd like to check the frontal temperatures of your stove and let me know, I can spot check some of the test stoves I have burning to be certain your temperatures are inline with what we'd expect.

I appreciate that Corie. It's pretty hot...I can't keep my hand on it for more than a second. I'm trying to determine if I should get a screen for it as my daughter is 6 months old and will be crawling pretty soon, and I do have small children in my home from time-to-time. I really do love this stove though.
