Based on those leaves and the looks of the wood I'm thinking some form of Hickory. I bet those rounds are heavy, right?

I sure haven't seen any hickory leaf that looked like those.

They don't even appear to be a compound leaf; hickory leaves are compound (multiple leaflets on a central stem that make up a single "leaf")...

I do agree that the wood gives the appearance of hickory (not Shagbark though)...

I'm going to say that looks a LOT like elm. The leaf, bark, and wood look like elm.

Rounds are quite heavy, I had a hunch it was elm. I have no experience with elm, how does it burn/season?
