Score!!!

The 5 acre property next to me recently sold and the new owners logged out some of the larger maple trees. He told me I am free to take whatever I would like that is left standing or piled. Looks like I have some work to do! This is the pile I started on. Have about 1/3 of it left to cut and haul. There's mostly ash maple and walnut on the property. This should get me three years ahead on wood now, maybe more!

To the left of where the picture is taken still has a bunch of standing trees. He said they are still waiting to drop about 40 more trees.

Well I got through a decent amount of what was in the original picture....

Then I came home one day to find a guy with his tractor cutting and loading 8 foot logs into his dump trailer. Needless to say it didn't take him longer than a weekend to clear out what was left of the pile. This is what I have so far. I was able to drop a few maples and ash trees to add to my pile. The pile is currently as deep as it is wide. I'll have to stack it to get an idea how much wood is there.

For reference the stack behind the pile is 5 ft tall.
