Any thoughts on this price?

That's about what I paid for mine two years ago, with my blower.

Wasn't worth it to travel to and from NH to buy one and haul it back in my Tundra, when you factor in the price of gas (back then ~3.50/gal)

This particular dealer said they would look at my Encore 2n1 as a trade towards the F55. The stove does need a new back insulation board due to me being a little careless installing a cat probe, besides that it's like new.

What would be a fair price?

Any thoughts on how the F55 compares to the Oslo? Does anyone knowing it's possible to clean the chimney thru either one of these stoves with a sooteater.

Thanks

I cleaned both of my chimneys today. I am pretty sure that you cannot do it through the stove because of the baffle. I disconnected my stove to clean the chimney as well as the stove to prepare for the burn season.

Can you add your stove to your signature line?

Saw the F55 in person the other day while picking up some gasket material (finally had to regasket a couple of doors after 6 years of not replacing a single part) . . . very sharp looking stove. Jotul Rep for the area just happened to be in the store -- he had nothing but high praise for the stove. That said, I really cannot complain about my Oslo.

I looked at that stove when I was shopping. The Oslo is a great looking stove. What sold me on the F55 was the lack of Gaskets to replace!!!

How easy is the baffles to maintain? So know one thinks it's possible to clean the chimney thru the stove if you remove the baffles.

If you want the top load you could always get the f50 tl. It and the f55 are basicly the same stove... I hear the f55 is a little bit bigger box and less parts... But if you want a top load its a good option. I dont top load mine often. However i do love useing the winter grill option. If i had to pick again not sure if i would give up the winter grill. Also with the bafold folding up i would think you could use a soot eater from inside the stove.

Just pulled the block off plate it looks like I should have enough room to insulate my liner.

It does get tight by the damper. I should be able to leave the wrap short and the stuff roxul the last foot or so, correct?

Yes.

Another happy F55 owner. Nice looking stove, very simple to operate, no extra anything to break 10+ years from now. I had a F50TL for a bit too and kept the F55. The top load feature ]sacrifices some firebox space and I found the ash pan more trouble than it was worth.

Other than more parts to break and a worthless ash pan...... Is the f55 any easier to control or seem to heat any better? Mainly wondering if there is any benfit from switching from the 50 to 55 other than less that could break... I dont use my ash pan on the 50 or the top load most of the time.

Hard for me to compare.... they were installed in two different locations with different chimney setups. If I had an F50 already installed, I would probably not go to the trouble of switching to the F55.

Can someone double check me. My mantle is 67inches wide and 51inches high. So my clearances to the side should be ok for the F55, but I will need a heatsheild for the top of the mantle correct? Does it make a difference if I put the heat shield just above the stove instead of attached to the mantle.

As always thanks for the input.
