Not even close to burning season down here on LI. Still using the pool and the water is high 70's. This week daytime highs are going to be mid 80's. I cannot complain about such an amazing summer. However my wood pile is ready to go so I am ready if it gets cold fast.

I don't go by calendar dates, I go by when the house is cold beyond my comforts, While I'm iching to joint the rest of the burners for the 1st fire of the season, I hope to make not have to make one until the end of October

I believe we're still a couple of weeks out before any burning takes place . . . but then again . . . you never know . . . for all I know it could end up snowing in a couple of weeks . . . although I doubt it.

I heat for comfort. If I'm cold, I'll look at the thermometers first. If it's 77 degrees inside and 65 degrees outside, then it's just me. But if it's in the 60's to low 70's inside and the 40's or 50's outside, I may put a fire in the stove. Not a big fire, just something to take the chill off.

I still need some time to get outdoor chores done yet. I also have that itch tho!

In the 80's and sunny. Going to be nice next week too.

I don't have that itch even with a new stove, hearth and tile. :)

I love summer. Winter is a necessary evil to be in the northeast close to family.

I can smell someone is burning right now. The itch is growing.

This was last night folks...64 degrees...until...super nova kicked in.

SShore here, had a morning fire about 10 days ago, none since. I have both stoves loaded ready to go, but just hasn't been cold enough inside.

I did a full cleaning on Monday and couldn't resist "checking the stove function" so I lit a fire with pine and (2) pieces of oak, got her nice and hot then dialed it back. The weather forecasts had Monday being the warmest night time low temps, but it was flipped, this morning I was outside drinking my coffee in a tee-shirt again, and it doesn't look like there's any cooler weather insight until the 2nd week of October, Im fine with that actually
