Logging helmet?

Logging helmet?
What is out there and what are you using.
I would like to replace my Husky helmet.

I Bought an inexpensive Labonville helmet, muffs and face screen for maybe $20+/- at the beginning of this season. Sure, it's a little sweaty to wear in July but the first time I cut through a thick grapevine and the t-Rex femur sized log came loose and fell out of the above tree onto my head I was SURE as S#!+ glad I was wearing it. The only time I don't wear it now is when I'm cutting up smaller limbs on the sawbuck by the barn...even then, the convenience of the built-in earmuffs and full face screen are quite handy.

Maybe you'll never truly need it but for $20 are you willing to find out the hard way?

At work, we're required to use all the PPE. I wear a standard hard hat with safety glasses. Hearing is already shot. The cutting helmet is just not comfortable.

Bigger helmet?
 
Whatever brand you choose, I'd recommend making sure the helmet has the raised cutouts by the ear to make room for the ear protection. I think that adds to the comfort which in turn makes it that much more likely that you'll wear it all the time.
I never thought I'd like the face shield but getting whacked in the cheek a few times by little chunks of knots or getting poked by low hanging branches, I've changed my tune.

Helmet is cracked and I like the ratchet style suspension.
I will keep the old to bring to second home were I don't cut as much but could use it.
