That awkward moment when you get your chainsaw stuck 25 ft up in a tree and wonder how you're going to get it down.
I eventually used a hand saw to cut from the top but climbing up that rickety pos ladder and being perched out on that limb made for an exhilarating morning.

Im reasonably sure the first few words of my obituary will someday read..."area man dies in freak accident"

did you forget which way gravity pulls?

That's a good one, thanks for sharing. We can all learn from others mistakes.

Bin there done that
but not up so high ;em

did you move the ladder to that location after the saw got pinched or did you somehow cut from that position?

What were you thinking is number one. Just a little cut to prevent peeling the bark then a full cut further away then cut the stub but I'm sure you knew that. :p

I knew a guy who spent the rest of his life in a wheel chair from a tree and a chain saw. Just saying.

At work, with our stringent safety policies, we are not allowed to work off ladders. They are for access and egress only, might even be an OSHA thing. I do earthwork so we don't deal with ladders but we have pipe crews, crews that do bridges, treatment plants etc and it more so applies to them. Thank goodness you didn't get hurt, or worse.

Never use a chainsaw while standing on a ladder. There's a reason guys climb and/or use bucket trucks. It goes bad very quickly.

I climbed up into the crotch of the tree and kind of leaned over to make that cut. The branch 8 ft above that one i had to shimmy up the tree to reach . Im no lumberjack, but i did stay at a Holiday Express last night .

Hahaha I'd "like" the last 2 posts but apparently I'm out of them for today

Kindered...please delete this post or I may have to take off my cheese hat for a while. ;lol
At least tell me there wasn't a "watch this" right before it happened.

Glad you got it down and no one is the worse for wear.

I'ma gonna like all your posts here just cuz you had the nutz to post a pic of that and admit it. We've all done dumb stuff and lived to realize how dumb it really was >>

Have a second saw on hand. I keep an ancient Homelite around for such occasions. Of course I'm closer to the ground.

I like posts like this . . . partly because it shows folks that we all make mistakes . . . and partly because I know I've had my share of "What was I thinking?" stories as well.
