A lot of rain in the SouthEast this past weekend. Didn't stop me from hand-splitting wood with this carport storage I transferred onto my property last year. Got it all done before college football began Saturday (the good games at least).
Splitting wood during a weekend of rain ? No problem.

Brown center wood is Mulberry (confirmed by members here last week)
It's harder to split than I imagined.
Here's the other side along with the "tire splitting platform" thing I built. Thing is a backsaver for sure.
I'll add more storage eventually.

Got a similar setup myself. I can back a load of rounds under the carport and have enough room for the splitter if it's raining. Built this carport/wood shed to keep the trusty wood hauler out of the weather and at least some of my stacks covered. The rest is stacked around the back of the garage. I've split under there in the rain more than once already.

Nice setup, MaintenanceMan. Yours is better than mine due to the hydraulic splitter.
prezes13, Absolutely. I had the axe take some weird deflections a couple of times while splitting the mulberry. No close calls due to the tire platform I use, but still it commands caution and attention.

Nice setup, MaintenanceMan. Yours is better than mine due to the hydraulic splitter.
Thanks. It works well. A friend of mine has a similar setup as yours with a metal carport. His outdoor boiler is at the center end of it. He stacks most of his wood under the carport with a narrow isle to the boiler.
