Bought some new fire bricks

My stove was manufactured in 1990 and still had they original fire bricks. They were fairly warn out. Though still did their job. Anyway, bought the Fire-Tek TM replacements and they fit as good as the original!

Haven't fired her this season yet, but it's coming.
 
Congratulations with your stoves 25 years anniversary. So you're celebrating it by giving it a new set of fire bricks;)
With a little luck and some normal wear parts it should be ready for the next 25 years.
Really nice looking fire place, BTW

I'm also creating a true OAK for it this year. These Whits, as you guys know, have holes in the air plenum which somewhat negate an OAK. A little metal light metal work in the plans.
 
Gotta love those trusty old Whitfields! I'm still partial to saying the 2T was one of the best pellet stoves ever made.

My parents have had a 2T since 1988. 27 years old and the thing still runs like new!
