About 3 weeks ago I purchased 2 ton at Lowe's in Brewer, ME at $295/ton. (yeah, I know the price was high but I've heard good things and I wanted to try.) I went back last week thinking to get 2 more ton and the price had jumped to $319/ton. No. Thanks, but no.

No "sky is falling" sales pitches this year. I don't understand why BBS's are doing this, especially when you can go to a real pellet dealer and purchase quality pellets for less than that.

They didn't burn any better for me (all stoves are different) than other boxes I had on hand (Chow and FSU). I wouldn't pay that much.

We're pretty limited here. We have Lowe's, Home Depot and Tractor Supply and a local fuel dealer Dysart's that also delivers oil, coal and wood. A few hardware stores also carry. pellets, but no pellet dealers near. We've got Maine Woods, Energex (Canadian) Maine's Choice, Fireside, Someone said HD had Stove Chow, Corinth, Northeast, Greene Spreme, Greene Team...

Of those choices, of which I have admittedly only burned a couple, I liked the FSU's (Fireside).
