So far I have been to Wrights which is carrying Greenways at $350 a ton (don't be too pissed if it was Green Supreme as I was there a week ago and so many brands start with green).

Lowes in West Asheville has Nation's Choice for $269 per ton. No Somerset like last year as of yet.

My search continues for something that burns well at a decent price around here.

I just bought 2 tons of the Nations Choice at the WAVL Lowes for $246/ton. On their website they offered 7% off on 50+ bags. I have not burned them, but for that price around AVL, I wanted to get some. They may turn out to be crud, but I am taking the chance.
Wrights used to do a pellet spring pre-buy program that I was a huge fan of. I would sign on for 3-4 tons of pellets for somewhere around 300-310 a ton. These were Hamers, Turmans, or Country Boys. No more spring buys now.
There is a hardware store up in Burnsville that sells good pellets, but that is just out of my drive time.

One other option I have been exploring lately is to create a pellet buying club in AVL, where we could buy a whole semi load of pellets and split the costs. I can provide an west/central flat unloading and dry storage area and a forklift, just need some commitments for next heating season.
