That's about 20 years newer than a wood hauler...just sayin ;)

I was considering a used vette, or CTS Coupe they had, and just get a beater truck, but also need to be able to dependably tow our camper

No way I'm throwing wood into $50K + truck. Personally I wouldn't throw wood into a new $30K truck either but that's just me.

Nice truck. First thing I would do is get new tires. You'll thank me later..
They would have to be seriously bad before I'd spend the $$ on new 20 inch tires. I'll admit, I'm not too keen on Continental Contacts....rather have Bridgestone Revos, but the cost has got to be outrageous to replace them.

I just figured you had the $$$$ with a ride like that....==c
I just feel it would be wasteful spending.....unless, it's really that bad. What do you think the downfall to the tires are ???....poor performance in the snow ???.....longevity ??.....I drive like I stole it.

For a second, I thought it was a real nice truck then I realized it's a GMC.

The guys at home depot looked at me funny when I loaded 2000lbs of shingles into my new suv with leather. LOL

Nice truck. Could you some man tires instead of the pretty boy rims. :)

Imagine the look they gave this guy:

Well for starters they appear to be a very low profile for what I consider a truck tire but looks could be deceiving me. Usually low profile street tires don't have a heck of a lot of load capacity.

We just bought a new 4WD Tundra with a TRD package and it came with Michelin 18" LTX tires, nice tire with plenty of load capacity. Then again it's got 381hp and 401 ft. lbs. of torque, 4.30 rear end ratio with a 10.5" ring gear.

I'll look in to the load rating just in case. That Toyota TuRD sounds like a beast of a truck.....I know I wouldn't want to come up against it:cool:

I was looking at the Nissan Titan while my Wifes Maxima was in for servicing.....I opened, then closed the tailgate, and the entire bed shook....that ended that.

Got me a 2015 Tundra. Its a nice truck and I average about 18mpg which is awesome for a V8. For some reason, the tow rating for the 2016's was reduced by about 40%

I just looked at Toyota.com and they have the SR listed with 10,500 towing, the SR5 is 6800, the Platinum is 10,100 and the Limited 9,900 lbs. Toyota uses a newer standard for Towing capacity called the SAE J2807 standard(Society of Automotive Engineers), all the other truck makers use their own way of testing towing capacity. I have to wonder if that SR5 towing capacity is a typo. I believe our 2015 SR5 TRD Double Cab is rated at 10,400. We're averaging 16.9mpg using a calculator not the trucks computer.
