Ok I know I might get flamed but I can handle it.. If I never lay eyes on another piece of Duravent Pipe it will make me a happy person. I have 3 in on my St Croix in the basement. It leaks like a sieve in every seam. I have 4" in the Harman I installed last November. That leaked in every seam possible the first time I fired it up. Temporarily I taped every inch of it with that sticky nearly impossible to get off aluminum tape. This summer I spent 4 hrs getting all that tape off and sealed very crack and cranny with high temp RTV. I still had 3 small leaks when I started it on Saturday. Thankfully they were easy to seal with a little more RTV. I can't understand how they sell a product like this and have not had a ton of complaints. Just to be clear this is the version with the rope gaskets. If the upgraded with silicone is better thats fine but this should still not leak.

Only way that it seems to be usable is to wrap with silicone self bonding tape. How they got it through a testing lab is the real ?

In their defense, I believe most of their lines they require sealing with RTV. I think the only one they say you don't need sealant with is the Pro series. I know what you mean though - I use lots and lots of Silicone tape, especially for the 90* and cleanout.

Anything other than pellet vent pro is supposed to have every joint/seam sealed with RTV. I had mine installed last week (just the pellet vent series) with no issues at all. But, to put things in perspective, this is my very first pellet stove.

I'm on my second self install with PV-Pro.

I have PV Pro and it's junk as well, first start, leaking and recorded 28PPM of CO. I have a brand new furnace and propane is cheap, I have 1 1/2 ton of cubex stored, the 61A will take a break this year. Next year will look at replacing the venting with Selkirk DT.
