I have a ten year old Whitfield Pellet Insert. The pellets are accumulating and ultimately overflowing the fire pot. This has never happened before. I had a professional service the stove three weeks ago. I changed the brand of pellets and still have the same problem. I also have a free standing quadra fire and not having the same problem, so it is probably not the pellets.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

DID IT DO IT BEFORE THE SERVICE?

The did the tech Take the whole stove apart?
Both blowers and pull the firebrick and damper behind the firebrick to clean.


Pellet NOT BURNING and pile up is a combustion problem.
Check your air adjustment

You are not getting enough air in or out of the stove
Check for air leaks in the ash pan and main door
Check to see if the flue is clear and the cap is clean.

Thanks for taking the time to post a reply. I changed the combustion and it does seem to help. I will have to see how it goes for the next couple of days. How can you tell if the combustion is set right? How high and what color should the flame be?
