anyone out there using this old beast, its my second year with this stove, its a 1992 model, using lignetics pellets. it wasn't burning right last year, I tore it down as far as i could for a deep cleaning found the exhaust port on the right side was completely closed shut right before the combustion fan. long story short it is a completely different animal now, I have to learn this stove all over again, i was wondering if anyone else is using this stove and what is the best settings they have found to run this... i know i know everyone heats there house different, last year (stove was clogged) i could have the stove temp on 5 and feed on 3 and burn about a bag a day, now im burning a bag every 12 to 14 hrs on this exact same setting, still trying to figure out feed rate setting lingo as well any information on these stoves would be great

I think there are 2 or 3 but I'm one of them. Mine is a 1996. One distribution blower, one combustion blower, one control board and one door gasket in 19 years. Still heats like a champ in my house in Maine.

I have an Invincible RS Insert circa 1998. I as well am on my second control board and distribution blower and second ESP probe. I keep my feed at around 3.5 and set it for whatever room temp I want. ( 70 for me, 72 for the wife, 75 for the daughter so....basically 72 unless wifey is away)
last year i burned 10 bags shy of 4 ton, I've been keeping tract of how the stove burns on each setting, I have a room temp sensor for it, bought it last year haven't tried it yet

With the RS I have always been a Stove Temp guy due to it's older technology. With my P61A I use the probe and for the most part run Room Temp Auto.

I run my Invincible T ('93?) on stove temp 2 - 3. Feed rate is hard to compare with the RS since my T has the manual crank, but I turn it 5.5 revolutions which I believe is what the manual recommends, so I'm guessing it would be equal to a feed setting of about 4. I've been getting about 26 hours/bag with these settings for the past 4 years.
Add me to the invincible owners club. Had a 93-94 abouts vintage 'T' since new. FIrst i learned of an '92 vintage RS. Maybe your year is in err?
SImilar to Tim, 5.5 turns out. Run it at 1, to 2.5-3 max. 30 to 20 hours per bag. 2 1/2 ton a year.
Aside from normal cleanings, Every two days I blow out the heat exchanger for a minute with compressed air through some 1/4" NPT ports i added to the cleanout ports on the side, as well as to the manometer port . Saves us a good half a ton a year or more.
Reworking the orig control board now, because the power feed on the header was scorching like they all do, and I caught it before it scorched the board. Parts coming from digikey now.
Next looking forward to seeing how it burns with a c-frame combustion motor upgrade, like your rs has.

The test date is August of 1992, I set the stove temp on 3 and the feed on 4 the other evening, still had a half a hopper left 12 hours later. It definitely burns cleaner and more efficient since I unplugged the one exhaust port. I've heard of guys using compressed air to clean the ports out.

I have converted quite a few of these to auto ignition. My latest project used a 1997 insert. Updated to current controller and used a 52i burnpot assembly with igniter. Reset DIP settings to accentra insert so the initial feed doesn't overflow. Works pretty nice. For a month prior to selling it I experimented with a 5.5 RPM auger motor. Found that we had replace the slave arm to extend the pot feed times as it would jam occasionally. My next conversion I'm going to increase the hopper capacity.
Yeah That test date is the UL listing test date, same as my T and likey all other invincible freestanding both T and RS.
Did some more upgrades to my T, running better then new, and very happy with the burn now, I'll post a summary in a few days.

Newbie here trying to find out info on our Invincible T stove bought last year . We had no idea it was so old and that trying to find out info on operating it optimally would be so hard to come by .
Tim if you are out there , I hope you don't mind me replying to a post from you ages ago. I am looking for someone who has an Invincible T pellet stove that would maybe be willing to answer questions I have about it . If not of course I will understand but I am not finding this site easy to move around in or find any info that would help me do that never mind finding out info on my particular pellet stove .

Ssyko, thank you for responding and for the link to the manual , I do already have that document but it is very basic and doesnt speak to the nuances of running the stove.
A little history here . Bought the stove last year . Cleaning it top to bottom before use . Ran it all winter and it was lovely but a dusty machine to operate. Didn't seem to have any problems . End of season cleaned the stove .
This year before start up checked esp probe , cleaned flue pipe and added pellets and started stove up . It works fine for a bit but then suddenly it starts to soot up the windows. It is blowing a good heat I have it set at 3.5 maybe slightly closer to 4 stove temp and 5.5 turns of the dial for pellet feed . Just cant figure out why out of the blue something changes and it suddenly starts to soot up .

Your soot issue could be due to a leaking door gasket. Also have a look at the air wash intakes that are located under the side panels on either side of the stove. If one was partially blocked that could cause that cause your glass to soot up. My glass will stay fairly clean for several weeks.

Hi all, Tim thanks for your response. Funny you should mention the door gasket .That was one of the things we decided to try changing and just changed it in the last week. The gasket was quite old but didn't appear to show any evidence of leaking ( i.e. marks from soot escaping past it ) . Installing the new gasket rope idn't seem to make a difference though. We will have to check the air wash intakes. Thanks for the suggestion.
